April 2017 Herald

Dear friends,

Is that April gone already? What a busy month it has been! We've been deep into preparation for our Summer 2017 tours of Romeo and Juliet and Macbeth as well as some other exciting changes to Oddsocks. A number of you will have seen the announcement that for the venues we host box office for (Whitbourne, Avoncroft, Thoresby, Mary Arden's and Liverpool) we have a new box office system! Its hugely updated from our last system and should (hopefully!) work a lot better.

Speaking of summer, this year we're running a YOUNG REVIEWERS scheme. So, if you're aged between 12 - 18 and want to write a review for us of either Macbeth or Romeo and Juliet then please get in touch. What's in it for you? Well, it could form part of an Arts Award or school project, you'll be featured on our website and social media channels as well as receiving a free programme and £5 to spend at the Oddsocks merchandise stall! Just get in touch with Hope at hope@oddsocks.co.uk to express your interest and we'll send you more information!

If you came along to see The Jungle Book then you may well have filled in a comment card and entered into our prize draw. We can now announce the winner is Helen Beckett-Wilson from Nottinghamshire - we'll contact you directly to arrange your tickets!

Probably the biggest news of the month is OUR NEW WEBSITE! We were really due an online spring clean and have been working with Quick By Design (who we'd totally recommend!) on building a new more useful, user friendly and mobile friendly website. Do let us know what you think of the changes.

Next week we head into rehearsals for Romeo and Juliet, which opens on 17th May at Lichfield Garrick. You can book tickets for all our tour dates by visiting the website! We're VERY excited. Don't forget, you can keep up with rehearsal antics by Liking us on Facebook and Following us on Twitter and Instagram. Keep an eye out for rehearsal trailers too! We are also DELIGHTED to let you know Gavin Harrison (on your with us this summer) will be running a podcast. Keep your eyes pealed mid-May for the first instalment. There's more information coming soon.

By the time you next receive the Oddsocks Herald we'll have opened Romeo and Juliet and be nearing the end of rehearsals for Macbeth - yikes! It's amazing what you can achieve in a month, eh?

Until next time...
Best wishes from all at Oddsocks! x
